Now we got a second one for another room in our house. Replacement filters can be a bit costly at ~$45, but they do last long. It's worth the money. We alway like stuff from Zojirushi. Great products and well built.

Good for allergies My wife and I moved to Philadelphia for medical school. Within a few months she was experiencing problems breathing due to the bad air quality. At night she would continually sniff. She could not sleep at night due to the discomfort and I had to find refuge in the guest room if I wanted to sleep undisturbed at night. A Japanese friend of mine recommended this air cleaner. We tried it and within a week the sniffing and allergies decreased. I can't possible rate this product high enough for what it did for me, her and our sanity. There was a noticeable difference. I would gladly pay thousands for this benefit. It's great!

I bought this for my fridge because I always forget to change the baking soda. I had it in my fridge for a couple days when the smell of death started overtaking my bathroom. I suspect that the mouse that came as a free bonus with my bowflex died somewhere in the wall because I can't find a body. I couldn't stand the smell anymore, so I threw this in my bathroom before work and spent the night somewhere else. I came home about 36 hours later and I was terrified that the smell would be even worse. To my surprise, it was gone. Someone had told me that the smell of dead mouse would only last a few days, so I took the pouch out to test it. The next morning, the smell was back. I have no idea how this performs in a fridge, but it works great for the smell of death in a 10'x12' bathroom. I'm definitely buying a new one for my fridge and some others for around the house. I'll also keep these in mind if ever need to hide a dead body.

It's exactly what I needed... a quiet opeating, effective, small air purifier. It's not going to get your whole home fresh, and it says so on the box, so don't buy it in place of a larger purifier if that's what you need. It WILL reduce allergens in the home, but works best in smaller rooms (i.e. 11' x 10') Regarding filter replacement... People, get over it. That's how any (good) purifier works. The ones with "permanent" filters that you're supposed to vaccum... Yeah, a vaccum is going to get it good as new every time, isn't it? *shakes head* You just have to take into consideration that in order to operate this you will have to buy and replace the filter on occasion. The instructions suggest that after these filters are dirty that they be tossed and replaced. They don't recommend washing them. I suppose it's an assurance of a steady income, but it's not eco friendly. I have another purifier by another manufacturer and they have a washable pre-filter (like so many other manufacturer's). To make them last a little longer I use my dyson vacuum to clean them off.
