Works Well Enough Around Litter Boxes
~Highlights~
***** Low hum is louder than my Coway
***** HEPA-Like is not true HEPA, but works well enough
***** Be sure to open the back & remove the plastic surrounding filters to get full effect, & won't get Febreze scent w/o this
***** Removes odors around the cat boxes
***** Relatively Small Footprint

I tested the scent part of this, to make sure that worked, but I wanted something that would truly remove odors, not put perfumes in the air. Once you set it up and remove the plastic from the filters, the Febreze scent can be noted when it is turned on. Without the Febreze, however, it does well enough removing odors from around the cat boxes, and we have 4 cats (one who misses), so that's significant. For someone with severe allergies or immune issues, however, I'd still prefer a true HEPA purifier, which my Coway is, which is likely better at protecting me from contagion with my failure to make my own antibodies.

The purifier works well with only a few negatives. There are three fan speeds, but the top setting isn't as strong as I'd like it to be. I have another unit that can clear a room quickly should our wood burning stove get backed up or something catch on fire when cooking. The Febreze HEPA-Type Tower Air Purifier doesn't have the power or the push to operate as efficiently. However, under normal (more mild) uses, it keeps up fairly well.

The slow setting produces a really soft blow, which would be close to silent if it wasn't for the fan motor that produces a slight buzzing sound. When set to medium or high, the buzzing isn't noticeable, but on low it could become a bit annoying if you focus on it. If your intention is to use this unit for white noise -- such as when sleeping -- you'll want it set to medium or above.

The Febreze scent cartridges only last for 30-days, and that's with minimal usage. It's possible to go through several per month if you have the scent...
