The filters do seem to work and remove odors. I'd recommend them, but wish they came with some information. You just get the filters. There's no information included at all... how often they'll likely need to be changed or whether the charcoal filter goes in front of the main filter or behind it. In front it quickly gets covered with dust. Behind the main filter? Seems to make more sense. I have two Homedics AF-100s, so I'm trying one each way. Can't tell too much so far, but both machines did indicate the main filter needed cleaning within two weeks of installing the charcoal filters. I assume because they're sensing slightly reduced air flow.
