I purchased the GermGuardian air cleaner for my friend and it really worked good, except for one thing. He still had sneezing fits - 8,9 times a day. All the other problems he had seemed to be gone except the daily sneezing. I purchased these pre-filters and noticed they are much thicker than the pre-filter that came with the machine. I immediately inserted one and do you know in less than half a day his sneezing had stopped. It has been a few weeks now since I put the new pre-filter in and I have only heard him sneeze twice! He couldn't believe the difference. He is a much happier person now. He runs the machine continuously and we live in a dusty climate, so requires frequent cleaning with the vacuum - easy to do. Because of his health limitations, he spends most of the day in the room with the cleaner.
