It can not be turned off and requires replacement every few years. It also constantly emits a buzzing hum that can be heard over my split type air conditioner. I bought it for the night mode which adjusts the fan speed according to the humidity and temperature of the room, and which also turns off some of the annoying indicator lights. However, as the noise it emits keeps me awake, it has rendered this product useless for my purposes.
