I've been checking it every few weeks and it is doing great service keeping the house clean even with a rambunctious German shepherd puppy shedding all over the place. Fitting the filter into my Winix 9500 took some some patience and persistence, but it sure beats paying $100 to Winix for their replacement cartridge. That's just highway robbery ... the only thing in Winix' favor is that after they rob you, they don't hit you on the head with a blackjack. So that's nice. Next time, I'll buy a Fellowes HEPA machine... it appears to be the same unit as the Winix, and reviewers have noted that Winix's replacement filters don't fit that well, either.
