The Only Air Filter I Use! I've had my Austin Healthmate filters for over 10 years, and I have to say I am delighted with their performance. You can find a HEPA filter that is less expensive, but I recommend spending the extra for the xeolite/charcoal filter that also has a HEPA filter stage. Yes, they really do work for up to 5 years, especially if you take them apart and clean the pre-filter once a year. I like to note on the bottom in marker when I last changed the filter and when I last cleaned the pre-filter. They help with Austin Tx cedar fever, mold spores and even the ragweed pollen when it comes out. I can turn them down to silent mode most of the year, and only crank them up to high when the allergies attack. Very worthwhile.
