There was a slight noticeable improvement in the air coming out with the new batch of filters, wasn't certain because my memory of the perception may not have been entirely accurate, but also asked a friend who tried it by smelling the exhaust while holding the filter unit over a trash can and he also thought it was working better. Regardless of any possible change this is an amazingly good filer for the size.

When judging the usefulness of the unit, a great amount of time would be needed to do a comprehensive job. With limited use, this is what I found: -The unit is very quiet, generally, not even noticeable. The fan would not even be noticed near a bed at night. -It is easy to get to the filters for replacing or cleaning. They can be replaced, vacuumed and/or washed. -The scent compartment is easy to open, and contains a felt pad for application of the drops of oil scents. The pads could be easily replaced with some thick cloth or felt pieces. -There is a dim light on the area around the adjustable switch to tell it is running. -The cord is of adequate length to plug into the wall and reach to most areas that it will be placed. Breathing Deeper I am pretty happy with this purifier. It's very light and easy to set up (just remember to open the bottom slot and remove the plastic from the filter before use). The purifier is stylish looking and has a small footprint, so you can easily fit it on a dresser or your office desk. The purifier doesn't come with scents, so I had to buy my own scented oils to apply to the cotton pad. But it does help keep my office smelling better. One bonus feature is that the purifier produces a pleasant white noise. The noise is generally soothing and can mask background noise. Honestly, I keep it on in my office even when the air isn't stuffy, because the white noise can help me keep focused. One drawback is that both the purifier and the power adapter emit a green light. For those who are light sensitive (like I am), this means that the purifier cannot be used in the bedroom at night for either its white noise function or the scents. You could find ways to deal with the light...
