Popped these in the top of 'em; boots don't stink anymore. Having used bamboo charcoal regularly in Japan ( both to freshen rooms and cooked rice ), I knew this stuff would work. The charcoal you can get from Japanese dollar stores is cheaper, but--the pouch this stuff comes in is incredibly convenient for use with wetsuits and shoes. Great stuff!
