He is allergic to cats and ours spend a lot of time in there. We thought this might mitigate the dander a bit and give him some cleaner air. Yesterday morning when he left on an errand I plugged this in and turned it on. I immediately noticed a very nasty smell. Thinking that it might dissipate shortly I left the "purifier" run for several hours. Went on about my day. Husband comes home and says "what the heck is that hideous smell?" It smells worse in here than it ever did cats or not. He described it as a "heavy industrial smell". Took the better part of today to get it aired out. The filters are easy to get to and change if you can use it. It is also pretty noisy.
