The problem is the Amaircare 2500 is is designed for sounds like a freight train. On its highest speed, it is loud to the point of being totally unpleasant. The solution is to put it in a room where it can do its thing and you are not right next to it. We run ours at night in another room and it does the job although even at a low setting you can still hear it.
