The fish mate used the green and black foam filters. I cut these out to size and put in all three filters and they work great! This is algae season and I cleaned them out the other day and they must have contained a couple of pounds of dead algae after a week. The blue filter is very effective and I think they are working much better than the original two filters. As an added bonus I was able to cut two sets of filters from this product which made it one heck of a deal. I purchased two sets of this product and two 15W UV bulbs and I think I'm good for another 5 to 10 years with that old filter which is in itself an excellent product in it's original incarnation and now improved with these filters. I am extremely pleased with this product and the added life it has given me with my Fish Mate filter.
