After doing some research I found out that the same team designed the XJ-3800. The look very similar and the only difference I've seen is the 9000 has a little more advanced controls. So it took a chance and order this filter. It fits even better than the factory replacements. The filter looks exactly the same but has a better gasket around the edges and provides a sightly snugger fit. Im hoping this makes it even more airtight. So if you have the Pureair 9000 you have found a place to get your filters at a discount and with Amazon service. Recommended.

Have they changed their thoughts on what is "Outward"? Was this an oversight by the inspector? Which is the oversight, the original filter or the new replacement? Call to Surround Air company (1.801.547.1162) revealed that Black Carbon side goes Outward. Manufacturing company of filter messed up the labeling of the replacement filter.
