I run it for 1 minute before and 1 minute after I fill my tank. It has taken about 6 weeks (I fill my 5 gallon tank once a week) to neutralize my membrane but slowly, I have seen my water quality and taste improve tremendously. I have the Hydro Logic 100GPD Stealth RO System with a booster pump and UV filter. I haven't bought bottled water in about 6 months because I filter my city tap water for drinking. It tastes as good as any water I've tried, except for the Icelandic Spring water which has a very sweet taste. |

Customize Your Indoor Hydroponic Garden.I am not a "5 stars kind of guy", but this is a 5 star kind of product. My setup was almost too easy. I added a pre-filter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BA9DESA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00) that comes with 3/8" quick disconnect fittings. My initial PPM was never below 375, often we found it in the 500's. We used the (included with RO system) restriction fitting, as over a certain PPM (don't recall, but I think it was 330 or something around there) the instructions say to use at your own risk. And it says it in big bold letters. This will shorten membrane life and lead to premature failures. The pre-filter we used takes the PPM down to around 175 or so. Much better and less wasteful. We used the flush kit (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0047LABHA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00) and that install was a REAL snap too. 2 minute job if you nurse the clock like an hourly employee... I then used my lame attempt at a polishing post-filter... |
