I think I understand the source of the confusion. The manufacturer has changed the way they make and provide the filter. For example, the first time I bought a filter a couple of years ago the filter came with two charcoal pre-filters. The second time I bought the filter it came with only one pre-filter, but oddly enough the written instructions still mentioned the two pre-filters. A way for germ guardian to cut down on their costs, I guess? Also, the filter had more of a cardboard-like frame versus a plastic frame. Again, my guess is that the manufacturer was reducing their costs. My point is that I can either buy the filter at my local Lowe's store for about $39 or I can buy it through Amazon...

not OEM This is a 'replacement filter', "designed to fit" the Ac5000. It is NOT a germguardian filter, and is missing the seals at the top and bottom of the OEM filter. If this matters to you, this is not the filter you are looking for.
