Very Nice
Alright, so I just bought this so I can't say much about reliability, but I had to post a review online because I'm incredibly impressed with they way my apartment smells now. I have 2 cats, and litterbox odor is a big problem for me...I'm a neat freak, and I can't stand anything that smells dirty so I went out and bought this to help take care of the issue.

And this is really the best part.

I CAN'T EVEN TELL I HAVE CATS ANYMORE. Yes, it's that good. Granted, there's a bit of a rubbery smell because the filters are new, but it'll fade in time. All I did was put it in the same room as the litterbox, turn it on HIGH for about 5 minutes, and the smell was gone. I've since switched it down to low and let it run, and the room smells like it did when I moved in.

Another great thing about this unit is the filters are permanent, which means you never have to buy more. Just pull them out and wash them when the light comes on (yes, it tells you when to clean the...

My boyfriend and I live in an approximately 600 sq. ft. first floor apartment in Washington, DC. Boyfriend has seasonal allergies as well as moderate cat allergies, so when we adopted two kittens, we bought both models reviewed here, based on their Amazon reviews. We've had and used both 24/7 for over two months.

Currently the GermGuardian is in our living room, near the litter box, and the Honeywell is in the bedroom, where we don't allow the cats.

*Quality/Appearance*

When the Honeywell arrived, after a few weeks of using the GermGuardian, our first reaction was "Wow this looks like the cheap version of the GermGuardian." The GermGuardian has a much sleeker appearance and just looks more expensive (despite being about the same price when we bought it.)

I personally...
Very quiet!
I've had this about two weeks and love it! My husband set it up and turned it on medium. It was so quiet, I didn't realize it was on and went over to turn it on (thinking he had forgotten). On high it's a little louder (probably too loud for TV), but not bothersome. On med and low, though, it really is barely noticeable. We have it in our living room and on med, nobody even notices it. We have a smaller Honeywell in our bedroom that it is much noisier.
