While it is true that they are less expensive than the Whirlpool OEM pre-filters, they are not of comparable quality. They are thinner and much more porous. The two Whirlpool AP 450 air purifiers that my wife and I own have made a significant difference in the quality of the air in our home, but so far we have used OEM pre-filters. I do not believe that these after-market pre-filters would be as effective and would therefore shorten the effective life of the HEPA filter. |

| Solid alternative to pricey Whirlpool replacements Seems like a quality alternative to MUCH pricier Whirlpool brand pre-filter replacements. I might stick to Whirlpool for the HEPA, but carbon filters aren't rocket science and I recommend them. |
