Someone said it blows the dust around. Strange. Not far from my Oreck is a glass coffee table. Nothing collects dust like a glass coffee table. There hasn't been one bit of dust on that table in the 1 1/2 weeks I have been running my Oreck. AND, I only run it during the daytime. Only heard it "zab" about 6 times and mostly when a lose dog hair floats into it. The "zap" tells me it is working. We have a smoker in our house and you could really smell the smoke when you left the house then came back in. Since running the Oreck the smell is almost completely gone. I do run it on medium speed and sometimes on low. My "smoker" sits about 4 1/2 to 5 ft. from the Oreck and the smoke is drawn towards the machine and gone, gone, gone. Don't understand someone talking about dust blowing around. Maybe that person's machine is faulty. My unit is not noisy at all except when on high but so is any household fan on high. I find it does a great job on... |

Now with Helios Shield technology. Cleans and re-circulates the air in an average size room (12' x 18') twice every hour.seems to work great I just bought a certified refurbished model and immediately set it on high and started knocking the dust my hepa filter had deposited on my curtains and other surfaces. I occasionally heard little zaps but I was warned about that. When I was done, I turned it off and opened it up to find tons of dust caught on the filter. Already it had grabbed the dust my hepa filter spit out. Now I still have it on high and my allergies from stirring up all that dust seem to be getting better already. Hopefully I can get rid of my old filter that would leave a layer of super fine dust on everything and not more $50 filters and $12 prefilters. Now I can't say it removes all the dust or how fast it removes it. It does say it depends on air circulation and the size of the room. It seems to be pretty efficient given the amount of dust it already removed from the air however it doesn't have an effiency rating that I could find. As long as it does a better job than my so called hepa I'm happy. |
