One reason the unit is so great is this... the HEPA/carbon filter. My understanding is that Sunpentown has ceased or will stop production of the AC-1220 air cleaner. What a shame. This is as nearly perfect as they come. The air cleaner/HEPA filter combination effectively cleans 350 square feet. Although I have seasonal allergies this HEPA filter does a great job at removing allergens and odors, I can sleep well without any allergy meds. When I bought my air cleaner from AMZN. I think I paid eighty bucks. I am just sorry that the manufacturer will no longer be making the air purifiers. The replacement filters will still be available for a year or two. But this HEPA filter is a great product! And compared to the competition it is a real bargain! |
