Well, maybe not. The case of 12 is TRULY the only way go, but I wanted to check these out first before committing to a whole dozen. The case of 12 works out to be a little less per filter, and trust me, don't hold back. Get yer year's supply, and you can change them out once a month like you should, and maybe the dozen will last a bit more than a year, because of the lower blower fan usage during spring and autumn. These are MERV 11, look it up on the Goog if unfamiliar with the "ASHRAE" MERV ratings, or go to [...]. MERV 11 rated filters, at this price, is certainly good enough for most people - it is for us. And these filters that I'm reviewing here at perhaps just a wee bit less strong as far as construction goes than some of the store-bought ones, as another reviewer noted, but SO WHAT?
