If QUIET is what you need, this is IT!
Our search is over! We used to own two Venta humidifiers and they worked fine for a few years, but then broke about the same time. So here we are, AGAIN, looking at reviews all over the internet in search of two quiet and reliable humidifiers. "QUIET" is what we were looking for and we almost bought new Ventas in the absence of something else, when we came across two similar but more sophisticated airwashers: Winix and Winia. Similar technology as Venta, but more bells and whistles. We purchased one of each and we are HAPPY with both. Very quiet!!!! I would say more quiet that Venta even on the highest setting. Amazing! Not sure that the hygrometers are accurate, but they keep up with the dry air in New Mexico and able to raise the humidity in our bedrooms from 20% or below to at least 45%. So far, so good. We had them for about a month. I will be back after a while with more comments on durability.

Arrived broken, but quieter and healthier than almost any other humidifier. Similar to the Venta brand
Unfortunately, the company I ordered from sent the unit from George to Seattle by UPS ground. After over a week of rough handling (a UPS specialty it would seem), the wheel unit arrived cracked. I had to send it back. But I did try it even it's wobbly state to see if it worked..

Surprisingly, it did still work, if not optimally. It seemed to work comparably to a Venta. What made me try this over another Venta is that it had Plasmacluster technology, and I always loved that from Samsungs. I'm not sure it works quite as well as Samsungs variation does, but it's nice having it anyway.

A downside from the Venta, I'd say, is that there's no specified fluid included or made just for the unit. The Venta fluid is antibacterial, and it also modifies the water in some way to make it stick more to the wheel. I'm guessing you could just buy Venta's fluid and use it in here. It's the same basic technology, with a few extra bells and whistles, like an auto mode, and...
Quiet and Effective
Very simple to use and works too. My dry and itchy skin are now gone. Humility is up in my apartment and even the plants are happy. Seems like well made and should last for a while. A little spendy for what is basically a fan blowing on a group of rotating disks, but it doesn't leave white powder all over the place like some other units or do you need to buy filters every few months and I am happy with that.
