I gave this unit 2 stars which some may say is harsh, but it still has some potential if the manufacturer would fix some of its flaws. Let's start with the good : 1) Nice styling and it is not big and clunky 2) The price is very appealing ( I have seen these on sale for as low as 79.99) 3) Has a remote and very quiet operation ( does not disturb on the lowest setting) 4) No ozone generated ( very important ) Now and more importantly let's look at the bad or what needs attention from Homedics: 1) The Hepa filter included is not an authentic Hepa certified filter. I recently was diagnosed with asthma and am wheezing at night. Also, my son has also been having a bad case of eczema and found out the dust and pollen played a role in his outbreaks. That night I gave it a try and didn't use my maintenance inhaler before I went to bed. I turned it on for the first night and in the morning my husband noticed I wasn't wheezing at all that night. No wheezing! Incredible! I bought the larger one for my living room and two small ones for my room and my sons. My son hasn't had a huge flare up since we bought these. This product works! |
