I am very happy so far. It has four ON levels. I normally leave it on level 2 since the sound level is insignificant. I try to turn it up to level 4 for two or three hours every day. On the highest setting, the sound is noticeable, but it is a very smooth clean sound (moving air with no rattles, etc). During my first night or two, I ran it over-night on level four. The level 4 sound worked as white noise for me. It has been in operation for about two weeks and I can already tell a difference. The dust is gone. I don't have asthma problems, but sometimes do get sinus issues when trying to sleep at night. This unit has improved my situation. My unit came with a magnetic LCD remote that can be attached to the 503 unit, your refrigerator, or wherever. This device will show how many days are left before you need to change the filter. *EDIT - My unit is now over a year old. It is still running fine...
