I love the air purifier but we have two dogs and live in Hawaii so there is a lot to filter. We used our vacuum to clean the original filter it came with but eventually that wasn't enough. The replacements fit perfectly. We have two purifiers, so we bought two replacement filters. Unfortunately the one in our bedroom started making a very low (almost impossible to hear) pulsing/ throbbing sound after we put the new filter in, which was impossible for me to sleep with. The one in our living room however was just fine. So instead of trying to figure it out we just switched the filters and that solved the problem! Now we have fresh clean air again. These are a great product!

Not At All Like The Original Filter! This is not like the filter you receive with a new Hamilton Beach Air Purifier. It is over priced as it is only a single-layer pleated filter that does not collect as many particles as the original filter, and it cannot be vacuumed and reused. The original filter had an additional outer mesh layer on it that is like a collection bucket which removes dust and mini particles from circulating in the room. (You can easily see these on the filter). Plus, the original filter could be vacuumed monthly and it continued to filter fabulously. Mine performed well for about two years. This Crucial Air filter is not a true air cleaning filter, and it collects so much less that it is not a comparable replacement filter. And it needs replacing monthly! And after about a month after installing the Crucial Air filter, my unit began to rattle -- I popped out the filter and the rattling stopped. Time to replace it!
