![]() Clean Air Delivery Rate Performance Four-Stage Purification SystemDid you know that the air inside your home or office may be two to five times more polluted than the air outdoors? The AP-300PH Air Purifier uses an innovative four-stage purification system to safely remove 99.97 percent of airborne pollutants as small as 0.3 microns from your indoor air. Thanks to True HEPA and carbon filters, Sanitized antimicrobial technology, and PlasmaTrue technology, the AP-300PH is able to remove pollen, ragweed and other allergens, mold spores, dust mites, viruses, germs, pet dander, cigarette smoke, and odors. True HEPA Filter Removes Smaller ParticlesThe True HEPA filter is designed to safely remove 99.97 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns from your home or office. Yellow and red lights on the display panel indicate when the filter needs changing, ensuring that you change your True HEPA filter when needed. The filter is also cost effective--with normal usage, your True HEPA filter will last an average of 12 months. Carbon Filter Safely Removes Larger Airborne ParticlesThe AP-300PH Air Purifier's carbon filter removes odors and safely removes larger airborne particles from your room. The carbon filter is equipped with Sanitized antimicrobial technology, which effectively reduces the development of bacteria, fungi, and dust mites on the carbon filter itself. This is important because, without this technology, microbes can settle on the filter and be re-circulated into the air. The display panel indicates when the filter needs changing, ensuring that you change your carbon filter when needed. Under normal usage, your carbon filter will last an average of 3 months. PlasmaTrue Technology Removes Airborne PollutantsThe AP-300PH utilizes PlasmaTrue Technology, which creates an ionized field to help safely remove airborne pollutants. Ultra Quiet Operation and Intuitive Display PanelThe purifier's ultra quiet operation makes it suitable for use in any home or office setting. The display panel includes a number of convenient features, such as filter change indicators to let you know when it's time to change your True HEPA and carbon filters and a manual speed adjustment so you can set the fan speed of your choice. The AP-300PH also comes with an air purity sensor that monitors the air quality and automatically adjusts the fan speed to keep your air purified. CertificationsFellowes Air Purifiers have been certified by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) with three Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) numbers which indicate the volume of filtered air delivered by the air purifiers (measured in ft3/min). There are three CADR ratings - one for smoke, one for pollen and one for dust. The higher the number, the faster the air purifier filters the air. In addition to being AHAM Certified, the AP-300PH Air Purifier is also Energy Star certified, UL certified, and CARB certified. *Versus low fan speed setting PlasmaTRUE Ionizer Noise is Indeed Obnoxious I purchased this hoping the author of the featured critical review was just being super sensitive about the PlasmaTRUE ionizer noise since there weren't any others that mention the noise. He is spot on though. My unit was delivered today and I noticed it as soon as I turned it on. The noise it produces is very obnoxious and I also don't know how others aren't hearing the same thing. Perhaps it's a defect in only some units. My wife can barely notice it, but for me it's deal breaker. I called Fellowes support and the nice CSR seemed oblivious about reports of high-frequency noise coming from the ionizer. He said a "clicking noise" is normal, but wasn't sure about a high pitched whine. I described it as sounding like muted, but continuous cricket chirping. Phone support wasn't much help and I didn't feel like returning the unit, so I took things into my own hands. The noise became so annoying to me that I disassembled the housing and started inspecting the components.
