Compared to the original filter, this one did not have a tight seal to the vacuum cleaner - it literally flopped about. Without a tight seal, some of the air passes under the filter rather than thru it. I lined the bottom of the filter with duct tape, and managed to get a tighter seal. With the filter alteration, the vacuum cleaner seems to perform well now, or at least somewhat better than it did with the 11-month old original OEM filter. I have not tried to wash this filter, so I've no comment to make concerning how it holds up to washing.
