I received a free set to try out so I could share my experience with them in a review. Not having used bamboo charcoal before, I wasn't sure what to expect. Here's what I found: They are nicely made with heavy burlap and a hanging grommet at the top. They have a nice, natural vibe that I like a lot. I didn't get them solely for shoes. We have one tiny bathroom that gets stale smelling very easily (due to little air flow) and I put one in there. I was surprised that it worked so well to clear out that unpleasant odor. The air just smells clean now. The other one I tried out in a messenger bag that is used for general purposes. It tends to retain icky smells -- when something smelly gets closed up in it, it just permeates the fabric! - and again it worked to remove the odor. So I found these worked really well. I've no doubt they'd work for shoes, too. I'm now a believer in bamboo charcoal and would ilke to have more of these!
