However, the model 1550 Allergen design has changed, and the design shown in the picture on Amazon's website is old (great credit and respect to Amazon for showing the filter as it is). The new design has the cardboard strips running parallel to the 25" side of the filter so it slides in and out of the housing easily. The old design in the picture has the strips running parallel with the 20" side. These tend to catch on the housing opening on the inside and outside of the housing and can tear. They may be inserted and removed using something like a yard stick to guide the underside. Even then, I have torn apart filters trying to remove them. I would recommend purchasing single filters once you see the design so you know what you are receiving. My furnace filter housing opening is about 20" (accommodates a 20" filter insertion width dimension). If your furnace uses a 25" housing opening (atypical), then the old design is what you want. Good filters at a decent price I have used these filters for a couple of years as replacements for the broken electronic elements of my Honeywell air cleaner. The filters seem to work very well and appear to be functionally equivalent to the previous electronic version. The Amazon price as usual was slightly better than anywhere else. Combine the price with no taxes and free shipping and the deal is the best around.
