They did not skimp on that and when you need to clear a room of smoke and odors, it has all the necessary power. I tested it at the highest clearing speed. It will visibly suck smoke right out of the air. Understandably, this use of it gets quite loud. On the lower speed settings, the sound ranges between white noise and whisper. The carbon filtering does a great job of scrubbing the air. I'm using the machine to deal with tobacco smoke. After an hour on a midrange speed setting, the air is completely clear. The cleaning power is comparable to high end smoke eaters. There's no outgassing and the filters don't produce any odd smells. Overall, I'm happy with what it can do and feel the replacement filter cost can be justified by the benefits it provides. There are a few flaws. The clips that hold the top shroud to the base are flimsy. They have to be opened carefully. The shroud can be difficult to align with the holding slots on... |
