Poor replacement for OEM version, squeals loudly in my Miele, waste of $50, IMHO
This does not have the Miele brand name on it, doesn't look like the OEM one it replaced, and it started squealing after little use. It also seems to block the airflow so much that the motor in my vacuum gets very hot, more than with the original. I definitely would not buy again and I think its disingenuous for the seller to list the manufacturer as "by Miele". I think this item should be flagged to prevent others from, in my opinion, wasting $50.

Miele SF-HA50 HEPA AirClean 50 Filter Miele's HEPA AirClean filter meets Europe's HEPA13 standards, capturing over 99.95% of all particles. Once activated, a TimeStrip releases a red line of liquid over the course of one year, reminding users when it's time to replace their filter. The SF-HA50 is designed for Miele's S4000, S5000, S6000 and S8000 canister vacuum cleaners.
Read this if your vacuum starts whining
My Miele vacuum started making a high pitched whining noise not that long ago after being on for a few minutes. I tried changing the bag but that didn't help. I was about to call customer service, but I tried changing the HEPA filter first, and that got rid of the whine. The old filter didn't appear "worn out" at all, but had been around that 6 month mark of needing to be changed. My husband reset the filter light and didn't tell me!

BTW: If you reset the filter light, it will NOT reset the time again if it isn't already lit up. So you'll have to keep track of how long it's been since you changed the filter if you didn't reset the light when you changed it. Thankfully, Amazon knows exactly when I purchased it ;)
