Any time I'm about to purchase an off-brand of "aftermarket" product, I'm usually a bit skeptical. The main reason this carbon filter attracted me was the official Hamilton Beach filters do not cover the entire main filter, which ultimately results it becoming dirtier. I also didn't like that the HB filters had contents that moved around inside the carbon filter itself. Due to gravity, the contents would also move downwards, resulting in an uneven filtering process. It doesn't seem very logical or efficient. These filters fit over it perfectly, and the security plastic straps hold it in without a problem. The longevity of carbon filters can be increased by vacuuming them when they become dusty and dirty; just use your vacuum hose. I highly recommend these carbon filters over the HB originals, as they cover the entire area of the main filter. As a side note, mine were ordered from Captain Compass.
