The Hunter's will be posted to craigslist shortly. The Sharp is a great deal in terms of cost, doing its job, energy efficiency, design, filter life, and relative silence. The only significant downside is that the filters do cost about $90 when they are supposed to be replaced every 2 years. However, $45/year for filter costs isn't bad compared to the larger A60 and A80 models which have filter costs of about $135/year. Sharp Plasmacluster™ Air Purifier helps remove these irritants from the air that passes through it with an ultra quiet fan that draws air through a three-stage filter system. Plus the revolutionary Plasmacluster Ion Technology actively refreshes the air. The FP-P30U is ideal for a living room, family room, study or bedroom, and is a smart way to choose cleaner, healthier, more breathable air. - Washable pre-filter traps dust, dirt and other airborne particles from the air that passes through it. - Active carbon filter removes many common household odors and gases. - Manual operation lets the user choose among 3 fan speeds. - Plasmacluster technology splits water molecules into positively and negatively charged ions which spread throughout the room. Silent Mode is as quiet as 22 decibels, about the volume of rustling leaves. These are among the quietest Air Purifiers with a HEPA filter available anywhere. - Energy efficient operation means they’re easy on the wallet. All Plasmacluster models are 35% more energy-efficient than standard models, making them ENERGY STAR® qualified. They can operate all the time, saving money as they improve the quality of the air.easy to use, fresh clean, smelling, pleasant fan noise, backwards design This is so much more user friendly and efficient than the expensive Rabbit I have purchased earlier which at times rattles, unevenly whistles like a wind storm, and it's bright lights are nearly impossible to deal with during sleep. With this sharp model, simply turn the front up against the wall (backwards) and there is no airflow restriction and the light is pointed away from your slumber zone. Easy to turn the blue light off for sleep time as well. If there are just a few modifications to the design, it would be perfect. five stars for the value. |
