I "upgraded" in June 2012 and the first 2 times I loved this filter. Easy to install. Smaller package to ship from amazon.com and no comb to worry about in the attic. However 6 months ago when replacement time came I realized that the filter has failed. The filter material itself is glued to a plastic panel from the top and bottom that slides into the appropriate rail in the HVAC system. This meant that for whatever duration of the filter there was absolutely Zero filtration as the accordion was flat at the bottom of room it is housed in. Now the failure was not immediate as the filter itself was dirty with dust particles. But I have no idea if it worked properly for 5 weeks or 5 months as I don't... |
